Novatek, a Russian natural gas producer, is located on the Gydan Peninsula in the Arctic. The Arctic LNG 2 project factory is Novatek’s second factory in the Arctic region. The project includes the construction of three liquefied natural gas (LNG) production lines with a total production capacity of 19.8 million tons per year.
By the end of 2023, approximately one-third of the project’s construction has been completed, and the completion percentage of the first production line has reached about 46%. At the same time, the operating Yamal LNG project is preparing to launch its fourth and final LNG production line, which is expected to be put into operation in the next two to three weeks. The annual production capacity of the LNG plant is approximately 17.4 million tons. Since its commissioning in 2017, the facility has shipped approximately 50 million tons of LNG. In the past year alone, it produced 18.8 million tons of LNG, accounting for over 5% of the global LNG market.
