Jiahong Skin Effect Cable is a kind of single conductor constant wattage heat tracing cable for long-distance industrial pipes.
The cable provides indirect heat compensation to the heated pipe through the skin effect and field effect.
This indirect heating arrangement allows it to be used in hazardous locations and in areas exposed to corrosives.
It is mainly used for temperature maintenance, freezing protection, heating up, and other applications.
It is common in oil & gas, refining, chemical or any similar industrial markets that require heated pipelines on long runs.
Jiahong Skin Effect Cable has a high voltage heating cable and its maximum rated voltage is 5000Vac. The output power ranges from 15w/m to 120w/m.
The operating temperature is up to 260 °C.
Cable cross-section is customized according to customer needs.
Usually, the cross section of skin conductor of the heater can up to 5-30 mm2.
Jiahong skin effect cable can be used for continuous circuit lengths to 20,000 meters (2*10,000m), powered from a single source.
Jiahong Skin Effect Cable has a simple structure that includes inner conductor and outer jacket. The inner conductor is generally a bundle of resistance wires.
It does not heat up through the inner conductor, so the conductor is usually made of high resistance metal alloy.
The outer jacket requires a special material which has the characteristics of high-temperature resistance and high voltage.
And Fluoropolymer is the ideal material which is often accepted by many brands.
Jiahong Skin Effect Cable needs to be loaded in a carbon steel tube which has strong electromagnetic properties.
And one end of the cable connects on the tube.
The tube is bonded on the pipe to be heated.
When power is on, the current reaches the end of the steel tube through the cable and this takes place under the action of both field effect and skin effect, the current concentrated towards the inner surface of the heating tube.
Meanwhile, the electromagnetic effect makes the return current all concentrated in the heating tube inner surface.
There is almost no voltage and current that can be detected on the outer surface.
The current runs through the resistance impedance while returning to the surface of the heating pipe and generates heat.
Jiahong Skin Effect Cable provides a more cost-effective heat tracing option for long distance pipes compare to traditional resistance heating cables.
